TRIBU ASMAT EXPO MERCREDI 19 OCT

Starting Wednesday Oct 19, 2011 to January 19, 2012, Emilio Robba will present an exhibition of Asmat Art; woodcarvings and objects created by the Asmat population located in the Irian Jaya Provence of southwest New Guinea.

To the Asmat, art serves as a powerful bridge between the human and spirit worlds. The woodcarver’s art is a form of communication between the living and the dead. To the Asmat all living thing, including deceased relatives, have a spiritual life. The wood carvings serve to make the spiritual life tangible, helping to bring the carvers community into balance with the world of the spirits.

In a gallery filled with plants and flowers Emilio Robba creates the setting for the origins of nature interpreted by the Art Asmat.

TWO OPTIONS FOR AN ENTRANCE HALL

To keep a two-story entrance hall of this size filled with beautiful bouquets of natural flowers, one would need a designated florist on site. The silk flower alternative is ideal. To stem the boredom of always looking at the same decor, this client invested is two different groups of flower arrangements and uses them alternately to keep the room looking fresh and spontaneous.

Orchids Galore

White silk orchids were the chosen flower to accessorize this modern, light filled office that has the added feature of easy access to the outdoors. A collection of miniatures from the international phenomenon CowParade adds a touch of whimsy to the office environment. Terre de Sienne is a communication agency located in Boulogne, a suburb of Paris.

Looking out over a classic Parisian sheet metal roof can be beautiful for those who see it from a hotel room from time to time. But if it’s the first thing you see every morning when you open your eyes, eventually you long for a little color to contrast with the gray skies of Paris.

This decor presented challenges because it needed to be designed so it was completely removable in case of roof maintenance. The artificial turf is mounted on water resistant material so that it lays flat against contours of the sheet metal. A selection of UV resistant boxwood creates a mini garden that visually extends the decor of the room.
