International floral sculptor and home furnishings designer Emilio Robba has launched his new Art Photography collection. Photography has always been a personal passion and today he is turning his photographic lens towards images that illustrate the mystery and beauty of the world he sees around him. Photographer Emilio Robba’s passion has two directions: Nature and Voyage. His approach to each subject is different as he travels the world in search of images. “I have always used photography to capture inspiration for product design.” says Robba. “But today I am challenged to use the photographic lens to capture images of sights that often go unseen by others.”
Robba is referred to as a portrait photographer of Nature; he composes the shot over and over again until he achieves his personal vision, an intimate look at the natural world that is almost unreal. He exploits the light as well as the effects of texture produced by the layering of leaves, of bark or slender nourishing veins. Resolutely abstract and unusual, these images nevertheless preserve a narrow link with nature and reveal its perfect beauty, sensuality and mystery.
As travel photographer, he abandons himself to the seduction of a glance, a face, a landscape, the obscure light and shadow of a narrow lane, the reflections of a floating market. Contemplatively attracted to mankind and to his environment, he privileges human encounter and interaction to the stolen photo. The osmosis between Robba and the subject reveals an emotion, a gesture and frames a fleeting fragment of reality.
“When I look through the lens I have a vision of what the image will become. Just as a traditional painter uses oil on a canvas, I apply modern techniques to transform the captured image into Art Photography.” added Robba. From Nature to Flowers and Landscape to Fauna, the photos are divided into themes that form the basis of Robba’s work.
